Congress of Contradictions?

Friends,
I see no contradictions... just plain facts...

From The Politico...

Doolittle was forced by party leaders to give up his coveted seat on the House Appropriations Committee. But he was replaced by another California Republican, Rep. Ken Calvert, who has an ethics controversy of his own, because of questions raised by the Los Angeles Times about whether he used the appropriations process to increase the value of property he owned.
Some conservatives were offended by what they considered the failure of Republicans to live up to their house-cleaning rhetoric. A post on Redstate.org said that to force change, “we must scalp one member. That member’s name is Ken Calvert.”
GOP leadership aides said the reason they tapped Calvert was to keep peace within the powerful California delegation, which insisted it not lose influence on the appropriations panel.

Bring in a crook to keep the peace... where have we heard that before?

Go Get Em!

Eric Erickson is fanning the flames...

Immigration and Ken Calvert. They Actually Are Related.

When I declared war on Ken Calvert I made two points. First, his appointment is a sign the House GOP Leadership does not get it and they need to get it to win back the House. Second, unless we scalp a Republican, the GOP Leadership will not take us seriously.
And as I’ve tried to say more delicately, it’s not that they don’t treat me seriously, they don’t treat *you* seriously. They don’t. If you don’t believe me, ask John Linder, a member of the House GOP Steering Committee. Today in the Atlanta Journal, Linder says
“I really don’t pay much attention to blogs,” he said. “You can say anything on those blogs without any attribution and get away with it.”
Liberal blogs have been influential, the Georgia lawmaker acknowledged. But he dismissed their conservative counterparts, saying, “I don’t pay any attention to them.”

So when you are calling Capitol Hill to complain about immigration, remember how seriously Republican leaders treat you.
And then think how much more seriously they treat you after we’ve scalped Ken Calvert.

The Media Gets It!

Conservative blog declares 'war' on GOP 'perverts, louts, criminals'
Originally published in The Raw Story on May 14, 2007

One of the most prominent conservative blogs has started a crusade against Republicans who it says continue to promote ethically questionable congressmen and ignore the will of their base.
"A group of men and women across this nation ... are tired of defending a party that continually puts into positions of power known perverts, louts, and corrupt common criminals," RedState.com editor Erick Erickson wrote in a post Monday outlining his "battle plan" against Republican leaders. "We must be willing to wage war upon them until they bend to common sense and decency."
RedState is encouraging its readers to refuse to support Republican re-election efforts until Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA) is booted from the House Appropriations Committee. The site, which averages more than 25,000 visits per day, posted a "declaration of war" against Republican leaders Friday.

Blog gathers support to oust Calvert from Approps panel
A popular conservative blog has intensified its call to pull Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Calif.) from the powerful House Appropriations Committee, launching a coordinated effort to target members of the GOP Steering Committee who voted to appoint him.Erick Erickson, the editor in chief of www.Redstate.com, said yesterday that he had received encouragement from Hill staffers and some lawmakers who believe GOP leadership needs a wake-up call. At press time, several conservative websites and blogs, including the Club for Growth’s site, had linked to Erickson’s proposal to remove Calvert from the Appropriations panel.
“This party of ours must be pruned, and it must be pruned by those of us who care about it before meeting the butchers’ sheers [sic] in the hands of the voters again in 2008,” Erickson wrote to The Hill. “If they refuse to hear that change is needed, we will wipe them out and replace them with new blood that recognizes that a corrupt party rejected by the voters will not be embraced again by the voters until the corruption is purged."

Why This Blog?

Now that is a silly question. Ken is corrupt and it is our responsiblity to make sure everyone knows and force the hand of the GOP to get this man out of any position of power. I will post what we find and repost what others have contributed -- all in an effort to show more and more what Kennie boy is all about.
